What to do on Arrival

Introduction

Please refer to your appointment letter for information regarding the location of your appointment.  There are a number of locations where Outpatient clinics are held some of which are not located on the main hospital site and therefore it is important to review the content of the appointment letter.

When you arrive

It is important that when you arrive at your clinic appointment that you report to reception or use the ‘self check in’ facility to inform staff that you have arrived.  If you use the ‘self check in’ facility staff in the clinic area will be made aware electronically that you have arrived and this will remove the need for you to join a queue at reception.   Following check in at reception or via ‘self check in’ kiosk you will be given instructions advising of which waiting area/nurses station you should then report to.  When you arrive at the waiting area/nurses station you will be supported throughout your outpatient visit by nursing/clinic staff, if you find you are not greeted within 30 minutes of arriving at the waiting area please alert a member of the nursing staff.   Notice boards are present in clinic areas to advise patients regarding potential waiting times for their clinic appointment visit.
