5 September 2012

This year's State of the City event will be held on Wednesday 12 September 2012.

Light refreshments will be provided from 5.30pm with the main debate starting at 6.00pm

At this event you will be able to put your questions to the City Council and its partners about what they are doing, and what they plan to do, about key issues affecting Sunderland now and in the future. The discussion will be shaped by the questions asked at the event, but in the past it has covered issues such as the economy, the regeneration of the city centre, improving health and making our communities safer.

The main debate will finish at 8.00pm, after which there will be a half hour session until 8.30pm where you will have the opportunity to speak to elected Members and key decision makers from across the city, about issues specific to you.

A sign language interpreter will be available at this year's State of the City event.

The event will be held at City Space, the University of Sunderland's sport and social facility which opened in September 2009.

Everyone is welcome and entry is free. To register your interest, please telephone 0191 520 4848 or email yourcity-yoursay@sunderland.gov.uk to let the City Council know you would like to come along.  They will then send you more information nearer the time.
